A Proud Dutch Heritage & a Visionary Future
At Conscious Aerospace, our ambition is clear: to become a leading Dutch Tier 1 integrator in the aerospace industry. Our unique story began with the vision to design and build a retrofit hydrogen propulsion system as our market entry, a crucial step towards accelerating the transition to zero-emission aviation. Supported by the NGF impact investment as part of the "Luchtvaart in Transitie" initiative, we are well on our way to making this vision a reality.
The pre-lude of the journey of Conscious Aerospace started in 2019 with the ideation and feasibility studies. By 2020, we had developed a comprehensive business plan, followed by a funding proposal in 2021. In 2022, we secured part of the necessary funding and officially started writing the story of the real journey of Conscious Aerospace. We are now executing our ambitious project, with a timeline that stretches from 2023 to 2030. Looking ahead, from 2030 onward, we plan to execute our business case and commercialize our innovative technologies.
Where Are We Now?
Our progress to date has been substantial. We have developed a basic system architecture enabling a payload of 28-36 passengers and over 800 km range for a standard mission profile. These specifications have been validated by trusted industry leaders, ensuring that our designs meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.
We are making steady progress towards our goals:
Weight target of 20% for HAPSS
Interfaces for system and aircraft design are defined

Stephen Hands: Insights on Hydrogen-Powered Aviation and the Future of HAPSS
We had just started writing our story, and we are already making history. Conscious Aerospace began its journey with a commitment to revolutionize aviation through sustainable innovations, and we are fortunate to have Stephen Hands as part of our team.
Stephen Hands brought 40 years of aviation experience to Conscious Aerospace, including over 25 years in senior marketing, sales, and business development roles. As a former Vice President of Business Development at Fokker Technologies in the Netherlands, Stephen led global sales teams and played a pivotal role in transforming Fokker Elmo into a world leader in aircraft electrical wiring systems (EWIS). His pioneering work in introducing variable frequency power generation to large civil aircraft marked a significant step toward more electric aircraft. Stephen's strategic focus on sales, new product introduction, business positioning, and diversification underscored his influential career.
In his keynote speech at Technology Park Ypenburg, Stephen shared insights on the Hydrogen Aircraft Propulsion System Solutions (HAPSS), exploring the future of hydrogen-powered aviation and its transformative potential for the industry. His speech highlighted the innovations and strategic developments that were driving Conscious Aerospace and the broader aviation sector toward a sustainable future.
