Senior Software MBSE Engineer
Hydrogen Aircraft Powertrain and Storage Systems
Conscious Aerospace is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software MBSE Engineer in our Engineering department supporting the model-based systems engineering, requirements management, and architecture development of HAPSS.

Your mission
You will play a key role in the development & integration of Hydrogen Powertrain technologies in a variety of aerospace applications. You will be part of a highly motivated team working in a fast-paced environment delivering pioneering engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as technical authority for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology and tools, while fostering innovative and creative solutions that meet aviation certification and safety standards.
- Strong working knowledge of aviation systems engineering standards (e.g. ARP4754A).
- Develop and maintain system architecture models (e.g. SysML V1) capturing HAPSS functional, logical, and physical structures.
- Develop and manage system and software requirements, ensuring bidirectional traceability from stakeholder needs through design, verification, and validation.
- Support system-of-systems interface definition and management across electrical, control, mechanical, and hydrogen subsystems.
- Prepare documentation for validation and verification in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations and contribute to technical review gates.
- Support software development lifecycle activities in accordance with DO-178C, including requirements capture and traceability.
- Provide onsite support during HAPSS testing.
- Coordinate with electrical, control, mechanical & hydrogen system suppliers in the development, integration, and testing of cooling, power generation and distribution systems related to HAPSS.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software, Systems, Electrical, or Controls Engineering (or closely related field) is required. Master’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Proficiency in MBSE tools and methodology (e.g. SysML V1, Cameo, Rhapsody, DOORS). Knowledge of safety standards for software and complex electronic and mechanical hardware is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in complex, novel and/or aerospace system development.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Hydrogen storage – hydrogen distribution, Fuel Cell Systems, High Voltage Design, Combined HV and LV Architecture, DC/DC and AC/DC Power Conversion, Wire Harnesses, EMI Mitigation, Electric Motors, Industrial PLC experience
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex engineering challenges and deliver timely solutions.
- System specs, traceability, and verification infrastructure knowledge.
- System functional test plans, including software testing and verification.
- System safety assessments, failure hazard analysis, and certification test plans.
- Strong communication skills and experience working under pressure in a small high performing team.
- Occasional travel to suppliers and industry events.
- Occasional travel in and out of country to supplier/partner sites.
